stress management

Stress has been referred to as “a twenty-first century plague”, which reflects the growing concern over the effects of stress on the health of individuals, businesses, the public sector, the 3rd sector and society in general and the rising demand for XS NRG’s stress management services.

Our stress management, awareness and prevention programmes tackle stress from its biological roots.  We teach people how to develop the stress management and coping skills to reduce undesirable aspects and harness the beneficial sides of stress.

We also offer the excellent CIEH Certificate in Stress Awareness course, which costs only £125 plus vat

In-house courses are available on demand – please call us to discuss your requirements on 0845 387 1961.

All of our customised programmes are all designed by XS nrg Founder, Dave Evans, who through his love of adventure sports, IronMan triathlon and entrepreneurship has learnt a thing or two about harnessing the benefits of stressful situations and challenges.

We work with individuals and groups to look at sources of stress, improving coping ability, altering demands, learning to relax, lifestyle review, modifying type A behaviour, work related stress, improving personal life skills and developing personal stress management plans.  Personal, one to one stress management consultations cost £45 per session (45 mins).

At an organisational level we facilitate the development of stress management programmes which are based on the HSE’s Management standards for work related stress and which cover the primary sources of stress at work. These are:

  • Demands – this includes issues such as workload, work patterns and the work environment.
  • Control – how much say the person has in the way they do their work.
  • Support – this includes the encouragement, sponsorship and resources provided by the organisation, line management and colleagues.
  • Relationships – this includes promoting positive working to avoid conflict and dealing with unacceptable behaviour.
  • Role – whether people understand their role within the organisation and whether the organisation ensures that they do not have conflicting roles.
  • Change – how organisational change (large or small) is managed and communicated in the organisation.

The HSE Management Standards represent a set of conditions that, if present within a stress management programme, reflect a high level of health well-being and organisational performance.
