7,500 organisations yet to comply with ESOS

The Environment Agency has declared that by the compliance deadline of 5 December 2015 around 6,500 organisations had notified them that they had either complied (4,000) or intended to comply (2,500) with ESOS.
This leaves around 7,500 organisations yet to comply.
The Environment Agency focus is now on ensuring these remaining organisations comply.

The Environment Agency (EA) has said that it was not able to amend the compliance deadline of 5 December 2015, as this was set out in the EU’s Energy Efficiency Directive and related regulations.

Government scraps Green Deal funding

The UK Government has decided to stop funding the Green Deal Finance Company (GDFC), which was set up to lend money to Green Deal providers.
The Green Deal scheme helped householders to make energy saving improvements to their homes and to find the best way to pay for them.

Only 108 days to go to the ESOS compliance deadline

Participation in ESOS is mandatory for any organisation that carries out business activity within the UK and either as an individual unit or as part of a group meets the qualification criteria.
Organisations qualify if they have more than 250 staff or an annual turnover exceeding £38.94 and a balance sheet exceeding £33.48.
