We thought you might like to know about a client of ours who significantly reduced her biological age as a result of following a personalised diet and exercise regime. During our first session we carried out a series of fitness tests including the Chester Step test, which measures cardiovascular fitness. Our client, a 44 year old lady, was assessed as having average cardiovascular fitness for a person of her age.
Just three months later, she was amazed to find her discipline in following our recommendations had rewarded her with a massive improvement in her rating on the step test. She was assesses as having the cardiovascular fitness of a 19 year old girl!! Now that’s what you call a result.
Competing abroad is tough for even the most seasoned pro athlete, coping with the travel, change in climate and food, orientating yourself to a new location, taking on new competitors you haven’t met before and dealing with all the excitement and uncertainty of race day.
Imagine how you tough it would be to take on your first international event at seven years of age!
One of our coached athletes, did just that, travelling to Klagenfurt to compete in the Ironkids aquathon which took place during the Ironman Austria race. We used a series of sports psychology techniques, to prepare her for the event and to remove any internal or external barriers to achieving peak performance. We backed that up with some simple tactical advice “Get in front at the start and don’t let anyone go past you”. The result was a stunning win, in 35 degrees heat giving the GB contingent their only win in any age category.
